The poker hand is the key concept in the game. A poker hand is some specific order in the player's cards. (If you are already familiar with the rules you can skip the next chapter and read the instructions to the virtual play mode only).
As every gambling game, video poker starts with a bet: the player deposits a coin into the machine, after which it is dealt 5 cards. Keeping in mind all the possible winning hands, the player decides which of these cards to keep, and which to exchange.
The machine then exchanges the cards specified by player and checks his cards for winning hands. The player receives a specific amount of money for every type of winning hand. This sum or its half might be doubled (button Double). The machine deals 5cards face down, and then one of them is turned face up. The player needs to choose one of the cards that remain face down. To win here, the card chosen should be higher than the opened one. The lucky choice doubles player's win. If player chooses a card that is lower than a card that the machine turned over, he loses his original win. The player might take the risk no more than 5 times after every win which could not be higher than $2,000.
Variations. There are several variations of video poker. Mainly the difference between them is in the wild cards, which might stand in for cards of any denomination and suit to complete a winning hand.

Note: Unlike the table games in the machine games a bet could not be returned together with the win. ** Payouts are calculated on the first payoff number for the 1 to 4 coins bets. 5 coins bet are calculated on the second payoff number. *** When a hand with 1 to 1 payoff is obtained, you just get back the same amount that you have wagered. |
